| Bombardier hosts media from Luxair |
July 2006 |
Bombardier Regional Aircraft hosted Luxair senior management and a contingent of business journalists from Luxembourg at the Farnborough Air Show. They were given a demo flight aboard the Q400 after a detailed presentation on the aircraft and lunch in the hospitality chalet. A key driver in the decision to acquire the Q400 was its ability to serve London City Airport. Currently Luxair is flying the Embraer 135 from Luxembourg to London City, but it is restricted in its operations with that aircraft to 37 seats. The Q400, which will initially debut on Luxair's Luxembourg to Paris CDG and Frankfurt routes, will be operational at London City from September, Vice President Martin Isler said. Luxair has three firm orders on he Q400, plus three options. First delivery will be in April 2007.
