Major CRJ order from US Airways May 13, 2003

Pierre Beaudoin, president & COO of Bombardier Aerospace, and US Airways president and CEO David Siegel today were headliners at a ceremony in Montreal to formalize a contract for the second largest single order for Bombardier CRJ regional jets.

The Arlington, Virginia-based airline, seventh-largest in the U.S., placed a firm order for sixty 50-seat CRJ200 and twenty-five 75-seat dual class CRJ700 Series 705 jets. The transaction also includes rights for 90 re-confirmable orders plus 100 options.

US Airways could acquire up to 275 Bombardier CRJ aircraft under terms of the contract, announced May 12, 2003.

This commitment by US Airways is a clear sign that the regional jet revolution that began with the original Canadair Regional Jet is not over, it's continuing . . . and continuing with the Bombardier CRJ.

As Steven A. Ridolfi, President of Bombardier Aerospace, Regional Aircraft explained, US Airways' decision to acquire both the CRJ200 and CRJ700 "is an endorsement of the proven economics and commonality benefits of the CRJ family. It also underscores the opportunities for lower operating costs and increased profit with larger size CRJ aircraft"

Happy and prosperous flying, US Airways.
