Ten Years and 700 CRJs Later… October 30, 2002

Ten years after the first CRJ was delivered to Lufthansa CityLine in October of 1992, Air Nostrum of Spain has received the 700th CRJ100/200. In a ceremony at the Bombardier factory in Dorval, Miguel Angel Falcon, the General Manager of Air Nostrum, accepted the aircraft from Pierre Beaudoin and John Giraudy—the presidents of Bombardier Aerospace and Bombardier Aerospace Regional Aircraft, respectively.

Like the CRJ itself, Air Nostrum is a story about great market acceptance and success. Starting with just two aircraft in 1994, the airline has grown to some 55 with this latest delivery. The airline operates a mixed fleet of jets and turboprops, about which Mr. Falcon comments "The flexibility of Bombardier's families of CRJ and Q Series aircraft has had real impact on the successful development of our airline… we have one of the youngest fleets in operation, providing our passengers with the highest quality of service". Air Nostrum has also been named as "Airline of the Year" by the European Regions Airline Association, in 1999-2000 and again for 2002-2003.

In response, John Giraudy commented "Milestones such as the 700th 50-seat CRJ delivery give us pause to reflect while we celebrate to consider one of the most important aspects of our business - our relationships with customers such as Air Nostrum and how happy we are to play a part in their success."

Here's to ten years of success, growth, and most importantly… wonderful friendships with our many great customers and operators.
