Lufthansa Takes Delivery of Their First CRJ700 May 29, 2001

Lufthansa CityLine of Germany is the second European operator to take delivery of Bombardier's 70-seat CRJ700. The airline received the first of 20 CRJ700s on order on May 25, 2001. Lufthansa plans to put the aircraft into service later this summer.

Lufthansa CityLine was launch customer for the CRJ Series family, receiving its first 50-seat CRJ100 in November 1992. Since then the airline has received 45 CRJ100/200 aircraft. "Our CRJ700 aircraft will allow us to increase capacity, with a common aircraft, on routes developed by our 50-seat CRJ aircraft," said Karl-Heinz Köpfle, managing director of Lufthansa CityLine.

The delivery of their first CRJ700 is the latest milestone in the long-standing relationship between this German airline and Bombardier.
